This privacy notice tells you guys (gender-netural) what to expect about your data and stuff. It’s important so listen up

what data do you collect and how do you get it

When you visit pages, some information about your browsing environment is sent to me so i know how to send you pages. like so you get the desktop version on your pc and the mobile version on your phone kinda thing. This stuff is automatic and you don’t do anything about it, just kinda the way sites like this one worka. Same goes with IP addresses

If you leave a comment, then obviously i collect your comment data…… so i can read it and cry, and then put it on the internet for other people to see. So remember you’re posting publicly.

Further to the comments, if you comment then you also supply your name and email address, and optionally your website. An anonymised string based on your email address will be sent to Gravatar to see if you’re on there. They have a separate privact policy so go check that out for tomorrow night’s bedtime reading once you’re done with this tome.

Wait embeds. Media embeds like cat photos from imgur may collect some data from you in the same way as ig you went to that website yourself directly by typing in the address bar. nothing i can do unless you want no cat photos, sorry

Glad you asked. You have the right to access – tell me to tell you what you already sent me (sounds like hard work); the right to rectification – get rekt i mean change any wrong info; the right to erasure – delete it; the right to restrict processing – request me not to use the info i wasn’t using anyway, see above; the right to object to processing; and the right to data portability – request giving that data back to you or someone else.

o yeah good point. Cookies are files stored on your computer by my website. They help the internet work by remembering settings and things so they reload properly next tim you come back, for example. And they’re auto too

First time looking at the login page if you happen to go there, you’ll get a cookie to see if you can accept them. It’s discarded after you close your browser

If you do log in, you get login info cookies (last two days, unless you ask me to remember you, in which case, last 2 wekks) and screen options cookies (lasta a year). Log out and these cookies go away. Edit or publish an article and a cookie with the post ID of that article gets saved, lasts 1 day

Leave a comment and you can tick to remember you if you want. Do that and you’ll get a cookie to remember these things, lasts a year.

Sure if you don’t like what I’m doing, you’re free to go to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Go to them for data and privacy stuff tho, don’t bother them for things like “oh oh, today’s cat not cute enough”
